Mef2c function in skeletal muscle is not required for voluntary exercise capability. Six-week-old male control (ctl) and Mef2c ^SkMKO (cko) mice were tested for their ability to run on an exercise running wheel for 1 week, following a 3-day training period, and distance (A) and time (B) run nightly were measured. No significant differences in either parameter were recorded; n = 8 to 12. Values shown are mean + standard deviation.
