Accelerated aging of NMJs in aging VAChTHyp mice. α-motor nerve endings (green in a and b) were visualized using an antibody against synaptotagmin-2 (Syn-2; green). There were more fragmented and denervated NMJs found in 19-month-old VAChTHyp (b–d) compared to control (a, c–d) mice of the same age and sex.
